Central Processing Facility (CPF)

PetroMasila’s Central Processing Facility (CPF) can be seen as both the heart and the hub for oil activity in Hadhramaut’s Block 14. Here, it carries out oil exploration and production, in addition to acting as a transport facility for oil delivered from the following companies: Total E & P Yemen, DNO Yemen, Dove Energy, Calvalley and Canadian Nexen East al-Hajr.

The CPF’s Central Control Room (CCR) efficiently manages the flow of oil from PetroMasila’s own wells in addition to oil from the above companies before transporting it down a 138 kilometer-long pipeline to the PetroMasila export terminal at Ash-Shihr.

Daily, about 450 PetroMasila employees – with support from 500 subcontractors – carry out operations at the CPF facility. Their combined efforts contribute to an average daily production of 48,000 barrels of crude oil. The primary separation of oil and water takes place in Block 14, before being transported to the export terminal as crude oil.

Electricity – both for the CPF and for field operations – is provided by four power plants and a fleet of 400 generators. The generators alone are capable of producing 200 megawatts of electricity.

Employees live on the CPF premises for the extent of their 28-day rotations. Comfortable housing, a fully-catered cafeteria, sports fields, gyms and recreation rooms are provided to make their days as pleasant as possible.

In addition to the many departments which allow operations to run smoothly at the CPF, a full-fledged training center offers language lessons and gives employees the chance to improve and upgrade their work skills.

The challenges faced by PetroMasila included logistical complications and skepticism on the part of customers and suppliers. The opportunity? To seize the reigns of a proven leader in the regional oil industry, and to do so with a new identity, one infused with national pride... Continue Reading.

Environment and Us

Just as PetroMasila utilizes a wide variety of production methods, so too does it incorporate a complex yet responsive approach to the environment. Exhaustive procedures are undertaken to ensure that water which is separated from oil and re-injected into the earth is pure, clear and able to meet all possible environmental standards. Offshore, rigorous marine testing is carried out as part of PetroMasila’s approach to preventing harmful situations from occurring in the first place. Continue Reading.
