The Logistics Department is tasked with attending to basic business functions for PetroMasila and with supply chain management for Block 14. Logistics’ role is an essential one, as uninterrupted production requires the steady stream of supplies that it provides. Other important duties that logistics handles are the procurement of materials, customer clearance and inventory management.
A total staff of 60 mans the two warehouses – one at the CPF and the other at the export terminal. Strategic supply agreements with vendors allow logistics to have replacement materials available as needed, and for arrangements with alternate suppliers to be handled quickly and smoothly. When ordered materials arrive, an inspection process ensures that all relevant specifications are met. Yet before the materials even arrive in Yemen, third-party inspectors will already have inspected them.
All possible efforts have been made by the department to maintain the trust of business partners through and beyond the transition from the former operator to PetroMasila. Meticulous attention to order details, good communication and timely payments from the logistics team has gone a long way towards maintaining valuable business relationships vital to PetroMasila’s continued success.
Logistics management has been proud to report that since PetroMasila’s takeover, production targets have been met for the department. Eight months of successful business interactions have succeeded in building trust between the department and its various suppliers.
