PetroMasila’s export terminal at al-Dhabbah is well-situated to take full advantage
of Yemen’s unique geographic location and accessible coastline. A standard export
facility for crude oil, the terminal is both cost-effective and environmentally
friendly. An inlet pipeline from the CPF delivers the crude oil to the terminal
facility, where six floating-roof storage tanks – with a total storage capacity
of 3.5 million barrels – store the oil until it is ready for export to a tanker.
Aided by contractors and subcontractors, around 160 PetroMasila workers man the
terminal, with a control room that operates 24 hours per day and seven days per
week. Safety and security are highly-emphasized at the terminal, with every effort
made to ensure that the crude oil is delivered to customers in an efficient and
professional manner. A highly-advanced metering system keeps track of all.
The Ash-Shihr Terminal is very much a self-sufficient facility. Sea breezes and
a variety of palm trees contribute to a pleasant working and living environment
for employees, with a variety of sports and recreational facilities at their disposal.
